Zoom beyond level z16 with MapBox Studio Classic

I've loaded a georeferenced TIFF over a university (NTNU) into MapBox Studio. The fist problem is that everything is black, and I have to use the longitude/latitude of the area to find it. Second, and more importantly, when I zoom in to the ortophoto, MapBox refuses to zoom further than level 16. This is well bellow the true resolution of the image (approx. 3cm/pixel).
