I have a vector file that represents transit scores by Census Tract (CT) of a city. It shows harsh boundaries where one CT has great access to transit and right beside that CT is one that has extremely poor access. I want to smooth these boundaries so as to blur these hard differences.
Is this appropriate? If so should I convert vector to raster, and resample to a larger grid size using bilinear method? I want to maintain the score value for future analysis.
Would the Smoothing Edge Zones (http://webhelp.esri.com/arcgisdesktop/9.3/index.cfm?TopicName=Smoothing zone edges) be a more appropriate method to use?
