I'd like to be able to produce spie charts in QGIS. I can see how to produce 'ordinary' pie charts, but I can't (as yet) see any way of producing spie charts.
I've got about 50 places for which I'd like to be able to display both a total volume and a breakdown by (typically) five categories. I've found that it's difficult to compare place-to-place variation by category using conventional pie charts. What works better is to plot a series of spie charts in which the angles of the sectors stay constant (pro rata to the overall ratio of the various categories), but the radii vary so that the area is pro rata to the volume of that category at that place.
(Difficult to explain this - but I can't see any way of attaching an example here!)
Any suggestions for how I could tackle this?
