• To prove of a first class clinical service to all patients
• Provide high quality care to patients, especially primary diagnosis and initiating emergency treatment
• The clinical duties include all those that are normally expected in any major Emergency Department in the UK. Duties will include daytime, evening, night and weekend shifts - Participation in 24/7 shift rota
• Hands-on involvement with the medical take, ensuring the timely development of appropriate management plans for patients.
• Supervision and co-ordination of junior doctors within the unit
• Helping to maintain multi-professional systems of care for common condition
• Teaching, supervision and development of Junior medical and non medical staff
• Provide sufficient information to colleagues during handover to ensure consistency of care
• Some administrative work, such as reviewing x-ray forms, auditing of nurse practitioner work and SHO clerking is required on a regular basis to be done in normal duty hours.
• To develop professionally and take part in all service development
• To work towards and comply with National emergency medicine targets
• To perform ad hoc duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the Consultant
