Is there a working gdal2tiles.py parallel processing solution that works on Windows O

I am looking for a working parallel solution for gdal2tiles.py.

I have tried the patch at https://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/ticket/4379 which does not work on Windows; it results in a WindowsError: [Error 32] as commented on at that site.

I have tried solutions offered via Github such as https://github.com/pramsey/gdal2tilesp/blob/master/gdal2tilesp.py but none work as expected on Windows. In this case a temp file sharing error is raised.

I am not interested in an expensive commercial solution like maptiler.
