This question already has an answer here:
I have created a fishnet shapefile in which all cells have a unique identifier (Cell_ID). I also now need define in which column and which row the cell appears.
Thinking logically, if a I have a regular grid with a pixel structure of e.g. 100 x 100 cells, I would then have to count from bottom left 1-100 and these receive the value "A" for "row A". Then the following 100 have "B" and the next 100 have "C" and so on. The same would then have to be done for the columns.
Does anyone have an idea how to create such a routine using ArcGIS, Safe FME or other software?
