Esri Geoportal Server + GeoServer

I have GeoServer 2.7.1 on my Ubuntu server and I am going to install Esri Geoportal Server (http://www.esri.com/software/arcgis/geoportal) there.

I would like to use this geoportal for publishing data from GeoServer.

Have anyone ever tried to install and use these software together in one environment? What do you think about this idea?
