The Desired Outcome: I want users to be able to outline a little geo-space where they can securely separate their connection from those outside that little space(imagine 2 buildings beside each other have 2 reliably distinct connections). Ideally once this geo-hub is set up both laptops and mobile devices can connect.
The Problem:Out of the box geolocation services(Google,Apple html5) are very accurate in most cases, but can still fail widely enough for users to be predicted to be in another building, thus crashing the user experience described above.
My assumption of the cause of the shortcoming:To my understanding, the companies above algorithmically try to resolve location with cellphone GPS and attempting to sniff WIFI AP that are then roughly mapped to improve future accuracy. I assume that such an algorithm works a bit blindly and thus it takes a lot of trail and error before blind spots are removed.
The Question left:Could a simple location service appendage be included that allows the user to pinpoint their actual location during the geo-space creation so that future users can expect the geo-space connection to be nearly fail proof?
