Converting Points to Lines in QGIS using Points2One Plugin - generates attribute tabl

I am using the Points2One plug in (QGIS 2.6.0) to generate lines from points.

There are 2 layers on which I have worked on. Point Layer 1: This was generated/created for testing purpose with fields for 'id' and 'order'. Using the Points2One plugin I was able to convert this to Lines. Point Layer 2: But when I use the above plugin on a point layer (that was generated using gps points transferred from a gps device) with attributes for 'group by id' (place name, integer) and order (resource use which is an integer/decimal), the attribute table gets generated with all the cases, but the lines are not visible.

I tried the same using the convert points to line(s) algorithm available in the tool box. It works for layer1, but for layer2 I get an error in the 'log' which says 'invalid parameters'.

I am not able to locate where the error is. I have checked for CRS (which is the same for all layers), and attribute type. What is it that I have to look out for?

I have some basic training in QGIS (but dont know the technicalities).
