Spatial Data Specialist

Conduct capacity planning based on readings and analyses received form the E-government Performance Monitoring the changing demand on the Geoportal usage.
Support spatial database design, including relational database design and spatial data integration, and GIS application software development and spatial analysis and data automation procedures.
Maintain the master FGDS framework data plan and associated documentation.
Follow-up on all FGDS-related SLA’s.
Conduct capacity planning based on readings and analyses received form the E-government Performance Monitoring team to meet the changing demand on the Geoportal usage.
Support spatial database design, including relational database design and spatial data integration, and GIS application software development and spatial analysis and data automation procedures.
Engage on the design level to ensure all parts are aligned with the requirements.
Oversee the maintenance of the master geospatial metadata catalog to ensure that all records are entered correctly and maintained by the appropriate data custodians
Perform research in terms of existing or emerging data modelling concepts, principles and practices, and make the findings of this research available to the AD-SDI community
Map out the ‘conceptual design’ for a planned database in outline; refining the ‘logical design’ so that it can be translated into a specific data model.
Set procedures for data maintenance in order to ensure the data is always clean and accurate
Conduct benchmarking research as and when needed.
Collect information related to AD-SDI Data Projects
Perform all the necessary actions needed to QA/QC the data received from the stakeholders and prepare it for publishing. This would include data conversion.
Sets, and follows up on applying, the data conversion complex procedures, in order for the conversion to be done without errors and efficiently.
Perform any other duties related to the job as assigned by Spatial Data Manager.
