Network Analysis Walkthrough

Network Analysis can be used for planning routes, finding the shortest route between two points and displaying time/distance information.
It can also be used to show the spread of a zombie outbreak.
Based on this premise, the practical exercise shows how to map the advance of the zombies based on a known movement speed and road network, allowing the residents of Worcester to know how long they have got until the zombies arrive.
ArcGIS tools and techniques used include:

1. enabling toolbars

1. creating Service Areas

1. running distance-based service area analyses individually or in a batch

1. configuring the symbology to illustrate information effectively

1. buffer analysis

The video walkthrough covers all of the steps taken in the practical handout, but the handout does include some extra questions to provoke thought and check your knowledge​
