Around 6pm local time yesterday, Hurricane Patricia made landfall about 85km (50 miles) northwest of Manzanillo, México. We animated data from NOAA’s’s Global Forecast System, showing wind gusts over 80 m/s, or roughly 179 mph. Meanwhile in the central Pacific, a well-defined Hurricane Olaf moves northward with wind gusts up to 120mph.
