Geological mapping: Strike and Dip Symbols

If you have strike and dip measurements from surface observations, you can add geological strike/dip symbols to your Oasis montaj or Target plan map.

1. Start with a database that contains your observations. You'll need East and North locations, and Dip and Strike channels.
   
2. Go to Map Tools > Symbols > Strike-Dip Symbols. Use the Locate button to position the legend.
   
3. Plot the symbols on your current map.
   

The azimuth convention for strike values is assumed, with the dip-direction 90° CW from the input strike direction. If you have dip-direction values, create a new channel where Strike = DipDir-90.
