I was pretty happy with this. My friend, an appraiser on the Antiques Roadshow, asked me to try my hand at a pirate map. My main problem was that I only had a weekend to make the map but I have to say, maybe it was because of the short turnaround, that my creative juices got flowing. I was happy with the inset & it's border, the compass rose, my early America historical jokes & my eye for detail (completely unnecessary but I actually got some Google images of actual bones for the 'X"). Also very limited on fonts ... I admit the road shield & state type is pretty bad.

Used GIS, Illustrator & believe it or not the land fill I put in by hand in Photoshop, using the clone tool. Ended up as the front of a glossy postcard. Reverse had detailed directions, etc.

My price: $100 & a bottle of Pinot Noir.
