“Spray paint graffiti United States map”
Let me start by saying that I usually draw like a 3rd grader, so this contest was a little out of my comfort zone. I decided that I wanted to work in a completely different medium than I normally do. The map is painted on one of my woodworking benches (as you can see all the wood working supplies piled up in the background). The entire map was drawn freehand with no measurements, I did refer visually to a printed map. The outline and black baseman were painted with a brush and the state lines were painted with spray paint and a masking trowel. Because of this the map is not your scale and I was not able to draw curved state lines (obviously it is too tall and the states aren’t exactly the right shapes or size). Hopefully this gets people thinking of all the different ways to draw and make maps.
