The Role
SURVEYOR (Marine Dredging)
My client is the leading dredging and marine specialist in the Middle East and they are currently recruiting for the post of Project Surveyor. Based in Abu Dhabi you will be responsible for the following:
The production of charts and related information for navigation
Analyze hydrographic data
Dredging
Planning dock installations.
Calculate seepage and evaporation rates
Using specialist technical software, global and some terrestrial positioning systems, sonars and echo sounders to provide data for the production of nautical charts and maps;
Using specialist technical software and geographical information systems (GIS) to manage the integration, processing and presentation of data to clients;
Dealing with clients, internally and externally, to provide tenders and results in appropriate formats;
Provide accurate and reliable information for other disciplines, such as dredging; coastal works; environmental monitoring; aquaculture; oceanographic research; and bridge construction;
Sourcing information on seabed type, water movements and waves;
Respond to technical queries from onshore engineering teams and problem-solving for colleagues working offshore;
Working as part of a team of technical specialists
Must hold a recognized qualification in Hydrographic Surveying with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience, or 10 years Hydrographic experience in a commercial environment.
Requirements
Educational Qualifications
Bsc Hydrographic, Land or Engineering Survey or an equivalent professional qualification
Professional qualification.
First aid certification.
Environment techniques will be an asset.
Industry related experience (8 years+)
Dredging.
Marine Construction.
Excellent Verbal & Written communication/ Language skills in English (Arabic ideally)
IT Skills
Microsoft Office – Microsoft Projects
AUTOCAD
Linux/ Unix.
Liscad
HydroPro
Terramodel
Trimble Geomatrics Office
UAE Driving License.
