Writing Script for establishing parameter files for MRT

I have 15 years of MODIS data that I need to mosaic and resample using the MRT program. But to do so I need to set up parameter files for every date as there are multiple files for every day in the year. Currently I am manually editing the parameter files in order to create one for each day but I was not sure if anyone else has ever had to do this and come up with a simple script to automate the process or had any ideas on how to write such a script?
