I've been using IDLE to code ArcPy for years and I love it. It's suddenly occurred to me that there might be better options with superior handling of loops etc. Some of my scripts are stating to resemble novels and I'm wondering what the pros use.
My research has revealed an overwhelming array of python editors (like listed on the Python Wiki: linked below). likewise GIS Stack is littered with references to different editors, but I'm yet to see a top five list with solid technical recommendations. What Python Editor is the best and why?
