What is the recommended approach to client side clipping, by geometry, of an ArcGISIm

I have an existing Esri Silverlight application with an ArcGISImageServiceLayer and we need to add the ability to clip that raster, by a geometry. And ideally, do this on the client side since the end users typically have the full raster (or the raster current extent) and are providing the geometry.

The behavior I want is the same as ArcMap's data frame clip by selected graphic in ArcMap:
