I was taking the slaveryfootprint.org survey, and their question 1 is awesome:

You type in a city, and the svg map locates it. If it doesn't get the country right (eg Melbourne USA vs Melbourne Australia), you can type in the country too. Way nicer UX than drop down lists. A quick skim through the page source doesn't shed much light on the API they're using for that. Can anyone point me in the direction of an API like that (convert city to lat+long and then update an svg map)?
