What commercial/open stack or GIS application should I deploying in our small busines

I'm an IT Manager, data guy and coder at a small business of about 20 people.

We work with a mix of information and data but not in a particularly formal way. We tend not to use SaaS platforms in public cloud; our clients may not allow us to upload their data. We might use our own cloud servers (in EC2 or Azure) to load/store/process client data during a project.

Examples of what we do:

  1. geocode 500,000 rows of a customer db with messy addresses (we built an OSM/Nominatim stack for this, and installed twofishes/geonames, and are aware we could have used commercial online services)
  2. create map-based visualisations eg. a choropleth of customer event-based data using QGIS
  3. obtain, merge, validate, POI data enriched with the customer's own industry information eg. thousands of infrastructure types and locations
  4. plot event data on a map (for small projects, we have even used PowerMap for Excel for this)
Our analysts are not GIS analysts. QGIS is too much for them, and we are highly unlikely to spend money on ESRI. They are primarily good with Excel.

I don't see myself hand crafting leaflet.js web pages for each project - but I like the idea of an internal system where data is better centralised, better visualised.

What I need is a stack for business use.

Can anyone recommend an application or stack, commercial or not, that I could build on-site, or in a cloud server, which our business would then use for data fusion and geospatial analysis?

  • users' work would be solo or collaborative projects
  • users should be able to import data (xls/json/from a db)
  • switch on and off layers/shapefiles/boundaries
  • users should be able to choose imagery/tiles they want (not creating a cost)
  • they will not need to publish their work but will need to export it to send to clients
I would greatly appreciate anyone's experiences or ideas what stack to buy or what stack to install - or even - what I'm missing here :)
