Location Iraq - Baghdad

You will be responsible for producing maps to support the operational and reporting objectives of the
delegation following ICRC GIS Guidelines. Organizing and maintaining the geo-database of the delegation.
Filing and storing of geo-data and meta-data) following ICRC GIS guidelines. Maintaining Synergy
Geographic Referential. Reporting Geodatabase and map products to central HQ database following ICRC
GIS Guidelines. Supporting Delegation Staff in collecting Geo-data incl. ICRC Recipient places. Regular
Geoportal / GPS / GIS training. Providing Technical GIS Support to GIS officers in Region. Providing regular
GIS support missions (Sub-Delegations, Offices, etc.). Analyzing and valorising internal and external data
sources. Networking with external actors in order upgrade quality and extend coverage of geo-data.
Searching and disseminating map products (ICRC and external) internally. Preparing and maintaining basic
Geo-referential data for neighbouring countries and remote GIS support
Skills

YOU have
Technical college or University degree in GIS or related field
2 years work experience in a similar function
Good command of written and spoken English
Capacity to integrate and implement ICRC policies and procedures
Confirmed capacity to work independently
Capacity to train others in GIS
Willingness of self-education in GIS and IT tools
Good knowledge of ICRC standard GIS & GPS tools
Very good database management skills
Good analysis and synthesis capacities
AND
Strongly motivated by humanitarian work
Ability to take initiative & good organisational skills
Good interpersonal & analytical skills
Open-minded, rigorous and adaptable
Ability to work in a team and under pressure
