I am new to GIS and QGIS, although I have a postgrad in maths and am a software developer/architect.
I recently downloaded world from Natural Earth, uploaded the data into QGIS and split by country attribute. I have now got shape data for individual countries. I have loaded that data into QGIS and now, I want to partition the boundary into a grid consisting of N cells.
Ideally, whatever process I use, will result in the individual cells (polygons), being saved to individual files.
Can anyone explain how I may partition a boundary into a grid containing N equally sized cells (polygons)?
Regarding the significance of N. This is simply based on an arithmetic calculation of how big (square meters) I want the individual cells (polygons) to be - perhaps there is a simpler way of achieiving what I'm trying to do ?
