I'm trying to use arcpy to create a grid over each of a large number of metropolitan areas across the US. I'm iterating over each metro and trying to create a grid over each one using the "fishnet" tool. Each grid should entirely cover the MSA and all cells should measure roughly 2.5km on a side. The coordinates I'm giving the fishnet function are unprojected latitude and longitude values. How can I specify the units for the cell-size parameters? I want them to be in meters, not degrees.
Please, please tell me I don't have to select a different projection each time... fingers crossed
