Resuming an osm2pgsql import to postgres

I was doing an import of the north american data with osm2pgsql using

sudo ./osm2pgsql -c -S /home/osmNA/nfs/osmNA/osm2pgsql/default.style --slim -d addressNA --flat-nodes flat-nodes.bin --number-processes 1 -C 2000 /home/osmNA/nfs/osmNA/north-america-latest.osm

It it failed due to another VM that was running (I believe).Is there a way to resume the import without wiping the db and restarting it?
