Hello,
I am trying to determine the percent land use by class within 500m buffers. At this point, I am not concerned with calculating the actual percent, but determining the correct land use class by area (sq. meters)
What datasets I am working with:
1. 500m buffer (vector)
2. GAP land use classifications (30m raster)
I am trying to do this using the Spatial Analyst tool > Zonal > Tabulate area. If I calculate one buffer, it appears to calculate the correct land use classifications (in sq. meters). However, if I run the tool for all 157 buffers (most buffers overlap), it incorrectly calculates the land use classification area. What it appears to be doing, in the case of overlapping buffers, is it calculates the first buffer's entire area for land use classifications, but for the second overlapping buffer, the land use classifications is only being calculated for the buffer area that was not already calculated in the first buffer. Therefore, a portion of each overlapping buffer is not being used to calculate the total land use classifications.
I appreciate your help,
Bryan
