Organizing PostGIS-Databases

Does it make sense to organize datatables within PostGIS through "Schemas"? Beacause there is no possibility to cascade table structures, one could use schemas to divide datasets into regions or datatypes, or?

Example:

~Databases

~~Projekt_Database

~~~Schemas

~~~~~Public

~~~~~point (or New_York)

~~~~~line (or Chicago)

~~~~~polygon (or Berlin)
