Obtaining size/dimensions (longest dimension/shortest dimension) statistics within a

I created several polygons within a feature class and wish to obtain statistics on:

1) Their dimensions (in terms of longest and shortest dimension) or size?

2) Their spatial distribution (something like a rose diagram)?

Is there any tool in ArcGIS that can do it, especially the first task?
