I have a raster of monthly average temperatures for the state of TX (represented as a grid) for a 50-yr period in the form of a netcdf file. I can display the temperatures but am not sure how to do calculations with this dataset. Specifically, I'm looking to do the following: 1. Use the temperature data to calculate potential evapotranspiration (simple formula using the latitude of that location, day length, etc.) 2. Convert the temperature time series to a probability distribution.
