I was interested in assessing to what extent the occurrence of a given land characteristics is influenced by autocorrelation. I have a point shape file, and for each point the presence/absence of that characteristic is coded as 1/0 respectively (I have used ArcGIS 10.1). I am wondering how to interpret the Moran's I correlogram which I got from the SAM program (freeware) (http://www.ecoevol.ufg.br/sam/); the image is at this LINK (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/82297408/moran.bmp). In particular, I am wondering how to read off the chart overall and, specifically, if from it one can assess if the data (i.e., the distribution of the aforementioned characteristic) is highly 'spatially' correlated.
