I am attempting to wrap my head around a modeling workflow for gun safety. I have been tasked with developing a model that would identify locations where discharging a firearm would result in the bullet crossing a road. My challenge is that an individual could fire a shot in one direction that would cross a road and fire in the opposite direction which would not cross a road. I am looking to identify those locations where firing would be impossible to not cross a road. Currently my only assumption is that the maximum distance a bullet can travel is 2,300 meters. I am thinking that the analysis might include distance (Euclidean or buffer), direction, and line of sight. Has anyone tackled this spatial inquiry or have any ideas?
