migrate an application under 1.6 to 2.8

i would like to know what are the recoomandation if i want to update an application based on a old version of qgisin my case my application was written using the 1.6 qgis, and now we want to use it with the last version 2.8what are the difference of classes, header of these two versions ?i've already installed qgis 2.8 under ubuntu 14, with recommanded package, grass works, qtcreator works, qgis works also

now i need to compil my old project with the news packages of qgis with news dependencies
