Role and responsibilities
The following is a brief description of the role.
The purpose of the Logistics Officer role is to plan and provide effective and efficient logistics services (transport, warehousing, local procurement and reporting) in the specific camp hub of responsibility - Zaatari.
Generic responsibilities
1. Plan delivery of goods and services on behalf of the operation following NRC standard practices and keep documentation to full audit trail standards, and where required provide advice / negotiate contracts required by the operation for goods and services.
2. Manage the NRC warehouses and stock levels of commodities within the area of responsibility and ensure information regarding recorder levels and safety stock is provided to the Logistics Coordinator.
3. Plan, organize and support maintenance of distribution point storage, to NRC standards, providing timely stock reports to Logistics Coordinator and Logistics Manager.
4. Plan and organize the operational transportation requirements.
5. Support, train and develop staff capacity as an integral part of duties.
6. Produce regular, timely and accurate narrative and financial reports for the NRC Logistics Coordinator
7. Carry out high quality local procurement when required which is accountable, transparent and compliant with NRC’s Procurement Policy and donor requirements.
8. Responsible for and management of Working Advance required to support unforeseen daily operational requirements, local procurement and settle timely and accurate reporting.
9. Accountable to the Logistics Coordinator / Budget Holder for logistics expenditure at the hub, including responsibility in ensuring that expenditure charged to their cost centre of project in appropriately allocated and correctly stated.
10. Other tasks as assigned by the Logistics Coordinator.
Specific responsibilities
· May be deployed on temporarily basis to other NRC areas of operation to assist logistics requirements.
· Assist the Zataari Fleet despatcher with their duties when requested by the Logistics Coordinator.
Critical interfaces
By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are:
• Close coordination with project and programme managers to understand and support their needs and challenges linked to Zataari activities.
• Coordinate closely with the Amman Procurement and Fleet teams to support NRC Zataari in these technical areas.
