Job Purpose:
Lead the Logistics Department in aiming at ensuring all deliveries and related logistics matters on timely basis and meet the set specifications with the least cost. Ensure that related logistics policies and procedures are adhered and well implemented.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Maintain and develop efficient and cost effective logistics tools and operations methods taking into consideration the Projects budget and SIAC policy.
• Negotiate pricing with airfreight agents, shipping companies, freight forwarders and transporters.
• Follow up with supplier to ensure cargo readiness within the required time and cost and take corrective actions if needed.
• Coordinate with trucking companies the transportation of cargo from supplier yard to project/warehouses.
• Insure getting all approvals needed of official documents (packing list, bill of lading, etc.).
• Prepare the required documents for customs clearance (commercial invoices, packing lists, export approvals, manufacturers approval for export, authorization letters, etc.) to be presented to customs agent as well as all needed documents to facilitate the delivery of goods, equipment's and supplies.
• Manage collection of stamped commercial invoice and customs certificate from customs agent for forwarding to concerned body for Value added tax refund and Book Keeping requirement.
• Revise all invoices from parties involved: Truckers, Freight Forwarders, Shipping Lines as well as Airfreight Companies and ensure getting the best prices and the best services.
• Follow up on payment of Service Providers Invoices with the Projects, and finance Departments.
• Submit Pricing to the Tendering Department for projects under studies as per their request.
