I have a question regarding a parameter used in ionospheric modelling - ionospheric pierce point (IPP) and its projection on ground, subionospheric point (SIP).
For ground-based GPS stations, I understand there is the Klobuchar's equation that could be used to compute the SIP based on elevation angle between receiver-satellite.
What about for GPS receivers on LEO satellites (e.g. radio occultations)? How can one find the IPP (or SIP) in this case? Could the Klobuchar's equation still be used?
