How to view a raster from a 10.2 Mosaic Dataset in ArcMap using the "Lock to specifie
I am attempting to use ArcMap to view a raster from a mosaic dataset (contained within a file geodatabase) without much luck (see Viewing one or more rasters within the mosaic dataset)
Steps:
1. Use the Identify tool Identify to find one or more rasters to display by recording the ObjectID for the footprint feature.
2. Right-click the Image layer and click Properties.
3. Click the Mosaic tab.
4. Click the Mosaic Method arrow and click Lock Raster.
5. Type the ObjectID in the Lock Raster ID text box.
6. Click Apply to preview the change.
7. Click OK to close the dialog box. (You may have to zoom in to see the selected rasters.)
So my layer properties look like:
I press Apply and zoom in, but no raster is displayed.

Other things that I've tried:
- I successfully ran BuildPyramidsandStatistics_management, but the raster would not display in ArcMap.
- I can drag the raster from the "Contents" tab in ArcCatalog into ArcMap and the raster displays correctly (which is added as a raster dataset):
