I am working on switching map and feature services for an existing web application from ArcGIS server to Geoserver with minimal impact on users (display, symbology) and change in code.
The goal of organization is not leaving ESRI completely but to avoid high cost for ArcGIS server for subscription model and any improvement in performance.
I noticed GeoCat is one option to publish Arcmap documents directly to Geoserver.
Do I still need to write Styled Layer Descriptor? or if there is any product which can reduce the transition effort to minimum?
My one key requirement to have some sort of authentication like get token API on ArcGIS server which appears can be configure on Geoserver.
