i am currently making a standard map layout for out Department using ArcMap 10.1. I however have inserted all my map elements but i would like my scale bar units to change from meters to kilometres and vice versa when the user zooms in or out a specific area to map automatically. I have also included an locator map but i would like to make it dynamic as well, in a way that when the user is mapping changes to a different area to map the locator map should change the location automatically. Please help.
