How to effectively read and analyze multiple dbf tables?

I have multiple dbf tables in a geodatabase to be analyzed.

I found this post Reading File Geodatabase using R indicated R is a potential tool. But it is not clear how to loop through the folder containing the dBase files using R.

Anyone can give an example? Or suggest another effective way to do so.
