I am at the start up phase of a Project. The task is to develop a GUI where the user specifies position and system properties for a ground based radar, the result should be a geographical map with real-world coordinates where the radar coverage area is displayed. When the radar range is calculated the limitations of the surrounding elevation should be included.

- How do I map my GeoTiff elevation data with satellite images to get a geographical map to work with?
- The preferred software is Matlab, is this the best software solution for this type of problem?
- Is there any existing tools that could be helpful?
