I have looked at every single one of the answers about this question and none of them seem to work. I have downloaded a shapefile with points that represent specific buildings. I would like to extract the longitude and latitude points to plot them on a mapping software.
I have been able to find the x and y coordinates two ways. The first way is to go to the geometry tools and add/export the data. The other way I tried was to go into the attribute table and add columns using the geometry functions $x and $y.
Neither of them worked for me. The data that I get looks like this. wkt_geom=POINT(-16517377.85089999996125698 11151758.26709999889135361) XCOORD=-16517377.8509 YCOORD=11151758.2671
Now I just need to figure out how to get this to plot in a mapping software.
Please help because I have definitely run into a big obstacle here.
