How to convert/export a large number of attribute's information shapefiles to txt/csv

I'm using the 2.8.1 Wien QGIS version.I have a large number (more than 5000) of shapefiles that I want to convert to a csv or txt files to extract, to tables, the atributte information. The shapefiles are located in a directory and I want to keep the same name and directory for the new ones. Anyone knows how to do this in a python script?
