How do you delete a feature class if ArcCatalog locks the Geodatabase?

I'm trying to delete a feature class from a Geodatabase using ArcCatalog but the file is locked because it's opened exclusively by me. The process fails to get a schema lock. Well of course it is, I'm trying to edit the GDB. How do you delete a feature class without opening the GDB in ArcCatalog?

Edit: To make it clear, the GDB is ONLY open in ArcCatalog. I even rebooted to make sure there was no residual locking.
