Grass GIS nearest neighbor interpolation in vector map rasterization

I find it ridiculous that there is no Grass GIS command for surface interpolation from a vector points map to a raster map which would apply the nearest neighbor interpolation in the process.

These won't do: v.surf.bspline, v.surf.idw, v.surf.nnbathy, v.surf.rst

Do I have other options than ditching Grass GIS?
