I've been, somewhat, following the news on the deprecation of the Google Earth API since it was first announced earlier this year. I'm an amateur GIS guy and I've been wanting to port over a simple Google Earth Application I made for the desktop to work on the web. I was playing around with Google Maps today and I noticed that you could click on an Earth View. Picture is shown below. Is this something new that they recently added to Google Maps? Is this something that will remain on Google Maps for a while? If so what is it called i.e., method names, class names, API names, etc.? I'm having trouble finding out what exactly it is I'm looking at here.
