I made the following in advance: I aggregated population data to 100*100m Grids. Afterwards I wanted to find out, weather there is autocorrelation in the data or not. For this I applied the Moran's I on different distances (142m, 284 m etc.). My problem is, that I get as a result extremely high z-Values (300 or even more).
Normally I expect z-Values until "maximumly" 6. Do you have an explanation for that? Is there something wrong with my method or is there just such strong auto-correlation in the data?
