To not have overlapping polygons/features I normally use a practice where I use one or more polygons to clip/shape other polygons. This is often much faster than tracing when adding polygons etc.
I have used this practice in both ArcGIS and Mapinfo, but I cannot find this functionality in QGIS - currently I don't have access to arcgis/mapinfo, so I can't tell you exactly which functions it was that I used...
The highlighted polygon is overlapped by the adjacent (west/left) polygon with the straight edge. I want to cut the adjacent polygon with the highlighted.
Suggestions appreciated.
