Looking for a clever answer to this one..
Is there a way to colorimetrically and automatically vectorize georeferenced rasters that came from manually colored, scanned maps?
Working with senior geologists, there was a consensus to finish the mapping projects by hand using colored pencils. This has been the workflow:
Print topography maps 20k scale --> hand-coloring work (hazard mapping) --> georeferencing (perfectly, if I may say so) ---(current stage)--> digitization of manually colored map.
I recognize that if there is such a solution, some eye-to-screen adjustment would still be in order. Am I correct to assume that going this path would be easier in the long run? There are a LOT of to be processed. We are like a bunch of worker bees.
Thanks!
