He's been called a visionary before. Started out when it was done with punch cards and took a month to get done. Built a pinnacle in the business he helped invent. And way back in 1995 his company gave a copy of his product to a kid from an unknown country who said he could use it (built one of the first GIS installations in the Caribbean with it). Glad the UN noticed this pioneer, humanitarian and champion - 'honoured for his commitment to ensuring that international, research, education and non-profit organizations working in the fields of conservation and development have access to analytical and visualization technologies'.
