I have 19 shapefiles with all the district borders of a country over 19 years. The goal is to combine these shapefiles into one as following:
The districts that remain the same over the years I want them to appear as they are in the final shapefile.From the districts that have changed (combined with other districts or split to smaller ones) I want to take the smallest part.
For example if in 1997 there were three different districts and in 2003 they were combined into one in the final shapefile I want it to appear as 3 different districts and if one big district in 1997 was split into 5 smaller ones in 2003 I want it to appear as 5 districts.
I would like to know how can I do this.
